I'm working on new component named JG Retro Games. This component should support old 8-bit computer games on Your site (for example ZX Spectrum, C64, Atari and other games) and Your users can these games play.

If You have any ideas and features for this component, please write about it here.
If You know about any great java emulators You can recommend it.

No Interest?

WOW. Will you support NES games? Will you be able to use point systems like AUP? For example, it will COST players points to play a game? But if a member is a VIP user, he/she doesn't have to pay? I would LOVE to have this component, but I really need more additional features I can charge actual money for. If you can, explain more about what you are planning for this component.

On my website, I'm about to debut a new membership "SOMM Premium". I am using the ACL extension, NOIXACL and I think you should add support for this component into your extensions. NOIXACL is completely free and I hope more developers support it.

Ok, I was surf on the internet and search best emulators for this component. Hardest was found the best emulator for ZX Spectrum.

I have included following emulators now. ZX Spectrum 48k/128k, Commodore C-64, Atari 2600, NES and Gameboy. For these platforms are over 30k games!

You got me thinking, thinking really hard. Why don't you combine this Retro Games component with the Puarcade extension, forking it into a better 1.5 NATIVE component!!!

Here's my official wishlist for this SUPER Arcade aka JGArcade extension.

The ability to emulate all of the retro emulators you have stated above plus Arcade/Mame.

Support of ibproArcade games (like Puacarde)

Tournament style format like what you have on your arcade website with leaderboards for each game.

A. FULL support of AUP and other Points system like Karma. Depending on the parameters in the backend, webmasters could make it cost members of their website to play games or it can be free. V.I.P. support, V.I.P. members don't have to pay if they subscribe to a AEC Plan.

B. Allow me to adjust how much it cost to play for EACH game and have a base fee for all games if a webmaster doesn't want to go through all the trouble of configuring all of the games.


Basic Joomla ACL support, like Puarcade. Make it so we can lock game "folders" aka categories for V.I.P. only, or groups like Registered, Author, Editor and up. This will be extremely helpful since I use NOIXACL on my website and I could use my custom groups.


Vanama, if you can build an extension like this bro, you will have a massive amount of webmasters coming to subscribe to your website. Think about it, websites that have both your JGCasino and "JGArcade" plus point systems should gain user activity and I know I will be willing to subscribe longer!
